Connect for Freedom Lessons
The Connect for Freedom Grade 8 (Ages 13-14) Lessons are individualized lessons covering topics such as online enticement, sextortion, protecting yourself online, human trafficking, and healthy relationships. All lessons include awareness and prevention information, educational videos, and enrichment activities to test youths’ knowledge.
Additional Lesson Plans
The Dibble Institute is a national nonprofit that aims to equip young people with skills to navigate intimate relationships and promote healthy relationship dynamics, both romantic and familial. Building a solid foundation to cultivate healthy relationships is their goal. These additional lesson plans can be incorporated into the curriculum as well.
The NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking is a nonprofit that coordinates statewide community efforts to end sex and labor trafficking in New Jersey. Their school awareness programs help youth and staff in Grades 6-12 (Ages 11-18) learn and understand the risk factors and warning signs of human trafficking. These additional lesson plans can be incorporated into the curriculum as well.
Educational Videos
These educational videos are in the Connect for Freedom Grade 8 (Ages 13-14) Lessons. They cover topics such as online enticement, sextortion, and human trafficking. These videos were created by NCMEC, DHS, DayOneNY, and Auroris Media.
Survivor Stories
Survivor stories are meant to be used in tandem with lessons to drive home the fact that online enticement, sextortion, and human trafficking are real world problems with real victims. There are discussion questions that staff can use to facilitate a group discussion or small-group discussion.
Enrichment Activities
These enrichment activities can be utilized alongside lessons and will help students learn and retain the material.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign created the Pledge2Protect, which is the official call to action of their know2protect campaign. The goal is to bring awareness to the exploitation of kids and teens online and educate youth on the topic.
