The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) creates educational resources for parents and education professionals that cover a wide variety of topics on child related issues. Their materials for K-5 schools highlights personal safety and online safety as two crucial topics that children should be taught to protect them and keep them safe. Grades K-5 Presentation: Be Safer

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has a presentation for principals or teachers to present to students in grades K-5 to learn about and practice the four rules of personal safety. This presentation was created by NCMEC through their KidSmartz child safety program. This presentation can be divided into four separate lessons, one rule per lesson or two separate lessons, two rules per lesson.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has a presentation for principals or teachers to present to students in grades K-2 to teach them about online safety. This presentation was created by NCMEC through their NetSmartz online safety education program.


Grades 3-5 Presentation: Being a Good Digital Citizen

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has a presentation for principals or teachers to present to students in grades 3-5 to teach them about online safety and how to be a good friend online. This presentation was created by NCMEC through their NetSmartz online safety education program.


Education Kit

NCMEC has an education kit on abduction prevention. The education kit is broken down into grades K-2 and grades 3-5. The goal of the education kit is to teach children safety risks, self-protection strategies, and how to report attempted abductions.


Lesson Plans

NCMEC has two lesson plans, Uncomfortable Touch and Surprises vs. Secrets. Both of these lesson plans are broken down into two groups, one for grades K-2 and the other for grades 3-5. The goal of these lesson plans is to teach children about body safety and help prevent child sexual abuse.
